It depends on the nature and severity of the problems. An initial psychiatric assessment may last from anywhere between 30-40 minutes followed by discussion of diagnosis and prognosis for 10-20 minutes and discussion of treatment/support plan with patient and carers for another 10-20 minutes. The duration can very. Follow-up reviews can take anywhere between 10-20 minutes again depending on the nature and severity of the problem.
