Hi. This is one of the common complaints which patients have after acl surgery. Please note that acl surgery alone per se is not going to help as rehabilitation after acl reconstruction is very very important. If you would compare your operated knee and unoperated knee there will be wasting in your Quadriceps muscles on the operated knee. This alone causes heavy stresses on your knee cap as your lever arm is disbalanced.
Next Steps
Please go hit the gym do quads strengthening exercises also you can do cycling, swimming which is very good. Do not wear any Knee cap or support belt as this will not let your Quadriceps to fire. You should be fine in couple of months if you follow the advice properly.

• Avoid sitting Cross legged. • Avoid Squatting- • Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. • Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. • Hams Stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. repeat 10 times, twice a day.
