The MRI report: torn posterior horn and body of the medial meniscus and related cyst averaging 2.5•2 cm. attenuated medial patellar retinaculum with related altred signal is noted; impressive of sequlae to retinacular injury. minimal knee effusion. Does it require surgery? Need crutches now to walk? Can continue martial arts?Repair or meniscectomy?

At 21 years one should be getting a meniscal repair if it is repairable along with cyst decompression. Medial retincular tear with MPFL injury puts you at risk of patellar instability Should get surgery done if you plan to resume martial arts after healing
