Hello. Depends on the degree of tear. Consukt orthopedic surgeon. If its first degree than physiotherapy treatment rehabilitation also helpful.but detail assessment also required.Even you go for surgery than also do rehabilitation treatment is must for prevention in future.

Surgery is not always required. You may need assessment with MR scan to look at MPFL (medial patello femoral ligament). Treatment is mostly conservative and with physiotherapy.
