Klebsiella pneumoniae in throat
Hello I had pharyngitis so I got throat culture done and there was klebsiella pneumoniae in throat. I took antibiotics for it.. some symptoms are gone but some are still there. How can i be sure that the bacteria is not there anymore and pharyngitis could be for any other reason as well. Would a repeat culture test clear the doubt?? can a negative culture mean that the bacteria is not at all present or there is possibility that the bacteria is there but its not growing?? Please clarify my doubt. I will be thankful

No need to get any culture done ..if symptoms are relieved, then forget about it.

Hello since you had throat swab and took antibiotics according to the sensitivity,it should have not stopped growing. If you still have pain maybe the source of infection is still persistent. If you have any nasal blockage or discharge it could be one of the source.. Please consult a nearby ENT doctor and clear your doubts.
Next Steps
Repeat swab may or may not have the bacteria. Generally not suggested
