A 9 mm stone at the vesicoureteric junction (VUJ) can often cause pain, or no pain ,obstruction to urine flow, urinary infections, and in long-standing cases even kidney damage if left untreated. Many patients are immediately advised for surgery or lithotripsy, but both have certain complications:
Complications of lithotripsy/surgery:
