Kidney dilation - pregnancy - 38 weeks

Asked for Male, 29 Years

My wife is 38 week pregnant and we did ultrasound today and it showed both the kidneys are dilated 5 and 7mm. do we need to worry about this?

Mild dilatation of pelvicalyceal system of the kidney may be normal physiological phenomenon during pregnancy and subside after culmination of pregnancy. It should be followed up post pregnancy with a check ultrasonography as well
