Jaundice in new born baby

Asked for Female, 30 Years

My baby is 2 week older.at the time of born he doesn't diganosis with jaundice BT after 1 week there are symptoms of jaundice.when we reached to doctors certain blood test performed in which biliburin count is 16 now dr wants to do phototherapy.nw my concern is only it is safe and necessary or he can be cure widout this pls help

If your baby has completed two weeks I.e., 14 days of age, and still has Jaundice( Bilrubin16 mg/dl) she requires more investigations- LFT, ST3T4TSH, Hemogram, Ultrasound Abdomen to begin with.
