You have mentioned not wisdom teeth, by that I assume your wisdom teeth have been extracted or already erupted.
If the gums are swollen and you have pain, best visit your dentist.
If the redness and swelling is behind your last teeth right at the back and the pain is also there , visit your doctor, you may have a throat infection that is causing this.
