Itchy skin
My 5 yr old daughter has been recently diagnosed with allergic rhinitis by both pediatrician and ENT doctors.. Her skin, specially hands and legs become itchy which usually starts from March and lasts upto October... itching reduces or sometimes completely absent in winter. She randomly itches her skin ,the skin cracks and bleeds and results in the condition that is shown in the picture. She is on medication for allergic rhinitis (monticope and metaspray for 3 months now). Is this skin condition and allergic rhinitis both interconnected.?.. Consulted few pediatrician regarding this skin issue .They said it will better...but she is having this condition from 2 yrs. Based on doc recommendtion using these- Bathing soap... tedibar Lotion... Cetaphil daily moisturising lotion applied twice.. Sunscreen... mamaearth rich moisturising sunscreen When the itching increases then i use calapure in the affected area . What should I do more?

This condition is atopic dermatitis as per tour history it is classical And one thing you need to understand as a parent the topicals which make skin dry while make this condition worse so dont apply anything calamine in it And secondly skin barrier is impaired in this condition so to prevent further damage ingredients similar to natural content of skin has to be used Kindly share a clear picture in good lighting of affected areas Also detailed medical history needs to be assessed before starting you on your personalised treatment

Hi there. Thank you for your rather detailed information and description that certainly helps paint a mental picture. Understand the diagnosis of Allergic rhinitis etc... yes it can be associated and is often linked to an allergic phenomenon of the skin and they can sometimes be commonly clubbed under the ☔ of a condition we term Atopy ; Atopic Diathesis, Atopic Dermatitis are some other descriptive terms. Dry skin is an associated condition and there are different ways to tackle this but moisturize, moisturise, moisturise is the mantra.... Along with good hydration. Diet and Food Allergens also need to be considered and a Diet Diary is often a good recommendation. Psychological elements also play a big role in this and need to be addressed. A more detailed history, clearer clinical pics can be 📥 sent across and a personalized discussion needs to take place before a clear management plan is placed before you. It can be sorted and the child will be relieved of the itch. For this, do please connect via this App's INSTANT ONLINE Consultation 🙏 for a quick and speedy resolution.
