Itchy Dandruff since 1 month

Asked for Female, 27 Years

My friend has noticed dandruff in the past one month. It's visible with dry and small flakes. She was suggested to use Topisol and Cosalic for a month. She tried to read the uses of the above medications and now she's confused she has scalp psoriasis. Is there a way to distinguish between dandruff and scalp psoriasis. Are the 2 different? Does she need any oral medication?
