Itch and dryness in the groin region

Asked for Male, 26 Years

For the last 2 weeks, I have been suffering from an itch in the groin area along with dryness, darkening and wrinkling of the skin. There are small round patches of darker skin which become very dry and white. I had started using Candid powder to keep the area dry and also to avoid spreading, if this is a fungal issue. But there has been no relief. The itch extends from scrotum to groin and beyond. Due to itching I think I may have bruised the area a little and it has now become sensitive.

Thanks for the query. Fungal infection is becoming an increasing problem due to rampant usage of antifungals. Please see a dermatologist as some extra medications are coprescribed many a times to treat. If needed a simple skin test can also be done. Till then use only OTC anti-allergic medications to control itching. Personal hygiene should be good. Wear loose fitting clothes.
