Your BP (110/70) is normal and stable, so it’s okay to continue oral minoxidil for now, but you should inform your dermatologist that you’re taking 2.5 mg oral minoxidil and monitoring BP regularly
Next Steps
do not stop on your own unless advised or if symptoms like dizziness, palpitations, or swelling occur

Dear patient minoxidil dose for as antihypertensive medicine is 10 to 20 decided dose that we don't use commonly. Your dose is very low to affect your blood pressure so no need to worry. Stop checking daily once or twice a week is fine . If you fine bp dropping 90/60 then consult dermatologist regarding continuation of minoxidil. Till then no need to go for panic check for bp
Next Steps
don't be stressed
Health Tips
just relax ...don't panic

Minoxidil is used for both hair loss and blood pressure. Dose used for hair loss is much lower as compared to blood pressure which is 10 times less as used for blood pressure. You can expect blood pressure drop which will be very less or none. But if you are still concerned you can check thrice a week
Next Steps
signs of hypotension: dizziness, giddiness if not any no need to worry but still you should still inform your dermatologist

• Oral minoxidil 2.5 mg/day is now commonly and safely used for hair loss under medical supervision. • Your average BP of 110/70 mmHg is normal and acceptable on minoxidil. • The fact that: • BP is stable • No dizziness, fainting, palpitations, ankle swelling (you didn’t mention any)
Next Steps
1. Do NOT stop on your own • Sudden stopping can worsen hair fall (telogen shift). 2. Inform your dermatologist at the next visit (important) • Tell them: • Dose: 2.5 mg daily • BP readings (110/70) • Any symptoms (if present) 3. Continue monitoring • BP once daily is enough (not 3×/day). • Check for: • Dizziness on standing • Ankle/foot swelling • Fast heart rate 4. Timeline to expect • 0–2 months: possible shedding • 3–4 months: stabilization • 6 months: visible improvement
Health Tips
• ✔️ Take oral minoxidil at night → reduces side-effects • ✔️ Stay well hydrated • ✔️ Avoid combining with other BP-lowering drugs unless advised • ✔️ Oral + topical together is acceptable if tolerated Stop and contact doctor immediately if you develop • Persistent dizziness • Swelling of feet/face • Palpitations or chest discomfort • BP consistently

You are taking oral minoxidil 2.5 mg daily with topical minoxidil and your average BP of 110/70 mmHg is normal and safe. In the absence of symptoms like dizziness, palpitations, or ankle swelling, there is no need to stop the medication. Hair shedding at 1 month is common and expected. Do not stop on your own. Continue the same dose and inform your dermatologist that your BP is stable and you are tolerating treatment well. Also confirm whether finasteride (oral or topical) is part of your regimen, as it is important to control ongoing androgenetic hair loss. Monitor for side effects (edema, palpitations, excess hair growth). Reassess results after 3–4 months. Or Most practical thing is you start topical Minoxidil and Topical Fenasteride and wait for it to work Dr Faizan Khan MD Medicine
