Low iron levels can cause fatigue, tiredness, and overall weakness in your body.
-There can be multiple reasons for low iron levels including certain medications, heavy blood loss during periods, or poor gut absorption.
-A detailed consultation with medical professionals can help get clarity regarding reasons for low iron levels. Do consult a medical professional regarding the type and dosage of supplement required as per your current health status.
Here are some dietary recommendations you can follow:
-Try to consume a combination of both plant sources including lentils (moong, masoor dal), chickpeas; green vegetables (spinach and fenugreek) to help maintain iron levels.
-You can also try to consume millets such as ragi or bajra in the form of roti or porridge in your daily diet.
-You can also include foods such as rajgira ladoo or jaggery with chana occasionally as they help build iron stores required for the body.
-Also include Vitamin C sources such as lemon, oranges or amla juice to help boost iron absorption in your body.

Ferritin is the best and most accurate indicator in order to assess iron deficiency. It’s a protein that stores and releases iron into the body.
Your ferritin stores are low, in order to optimise it, you would definitely need the right supplement in the most absorbable form, it will build the stores in a few months. I usually use iron biglycinate along with Vit C and recommend the right and trusted brand. You can book a consult with me to understand the dosage.
Continue to focus on iron rich foods and also include foods rich in Vit C so that the absorption is maximum.
