Your mother’s reports suggest moderate–severe Iron Deficiency Anemia. What the values mean: Hb 6.8 g/dL → quite low Ferritin 10 → low iron stores → confirms iron deficiency Hb <7 → may need hospital evaluation If symptoms (breathlessness, dizziness, chest pain, weakness): Blood transfusion may be required Treatment Start oral iron therapy (e.g., ferrous ascorbate / ferrous sulfate) Take with vitamin C (improves absorption) Avoid tea/coffee within 1 hour of tablets. Poor tolerance / no improvement ,you might  consider IV iron therapy
Next Steps
Find the cause (VERY IMPORTANT) Common causes: • Chronic blood loss (heavy periods, piles, GI bleed) • Poor diet • Worm infestation
Health Tips
Diet advice • Green leafy vegetables (spinach) • Jaggery, dates • Beetroot, pomegranate • Meat/egg (if non-veg)
