What foods can we introduce to the baby at 5/6 months? Please let me know Indian diet wise... I believe steamed fruits and veggies are okay...few spoons a day?

Weaning should be start after 6 months only, not before that. Exclusive breastfeed till 6 months. Continue breastfeed till 1 year and start weaning after 6 months 6 months to 1 year is age in which child learns to eat and taste develops. Consistency is important, start with liquids then increase consistency gradually to semi solid to solid at 10-12 months.

Culturally accepeted home made diet should be given after 6months of age along with continued breast feeding. Start 1 food item at a time and continued for 2-3 days before introducing other. Consistency should be semi solid followed by solid at 1 year of age. Preferably no animal protien till 1 year of age.
