Hi, Amitriptyline (Amnurite) can cause sleep disturbances if stopped abruptly. It’s likely your insomnia is due to withdrawal. Please consult your doctor to either restart a low dose and taper slowly or explore other sleep-supportive options.
Next Steps
Avoid self-medication. Seek a psychiatrist or general physician to discuss safe tapering or alternatives like melatonin or non-habit-forming sedatives.
Health Tips
Do not stop medications suddenly, especially those affecting sleep or mood- always taper under supervision.

This may happen when withdrawing from amitriptyline . You may consider tapering it slower or discuss the need for continuation and long term management with a psychiatrist. Generally it is not given for a short duration, though it is ultimately upto clinicians judgement and individuals history.
Next Steps
contact consulting psychiatrist or consider a second opinion.
Health Tips
avoid restarting prescription or taking other sleeping aids without supervision

You have sleep disturbances after stopping amitriptyline, 5 mg is very low dose, don't stop it, you should continue it& further whether it has to withdraw or taper, under guidance of your doctor you taper it very slowly over a period of few months. On this dose, there is no dependence or addiction to medication. You should follow sleep hygiene along with medication
Next Steps
discuss with doctor
Health Tips

Amnurite also helps in sleeping so it's understandable to have this problem. For next one week try to go to bed and wake up at fixed time no matter when you fall asleep. If this doesn't help you can need to restart
