I have struggled with anxiety and depression and therapy or medication has never helped me. I am wondering if i am just not able to be helped or if there is something else that i do not know about

To deal with anxiety and depression only medicine and therapy is not enough. Self motivation, self urge to be cure and to be free from anxiety and depression is more important.
There is many therapies are available in theoretical approach but what is appropriate for u is not a easy choice.
It takes time.Give full information about urself to ur psychologist. Dobt hide anything. U may change ur psychologist. But eelf participataion is more necessary.

Sometimes it takes a lot of time for therapy to work. You can also try alternate therapies like dance movement therapy, music therapy, drama therapy or art based therapy. Sometimes group therapies help better. See what you're interested in, and go for that form of therapy without leaving your current therapist.
