Im a CA student and i think I have ADHD
Hlo doctor, I am suggesting from lack of focus, consistency and more things, i can't initiate studies even though i really wanna to , even if I did start studying, i can't focus even for 30 min , i get distracted from ideas in my mind . Like some random ideas that i should do which is not related to studies, and I am restless , for example I start studying and i got a idea of buisness and i search the whole internet about it and forgot that I am studying and then i remember that I am going to a trip after 5 month but I am searching for dresses now .. and if I don't listen to my mind i become impatient, i feel like I am creative cause I can do the thing I love with 100% focus and with perfection and sometimes i can't even focus for a min . Sometimes while studying my brain completely deny me to study that i can't study at all ..it's like my brain isn't supporting me and i procrastinate a lot even though i innerly know i should do this task . Please help me .. i really need the help...

Hey dear What you’re experiencing is not laziness but difficulty in controlling attention—your mind is highly creative and keeps generating new, exciting ideas, which pull you away from studying because your brain prefers novelty over effort. That’s why you can focus deeply on things you like but struggle to even start or continue studies, and feel restless if you ignore distractions. To manage this, start using simple strategies like writing down distracting thoughts in a “later list” instead of acting on them, studying in small chunks (even 5–10 minutes), keeping your phone away, and allowing short breaks for your ideas after study time so your brain doesn’t feel restricted. Breaking tasks into very small steps will also reduce resistance. If this pattern has been long-standing and affecting your daily functioning, seeking counseling can help you build better focus and control. Take therapy. I want to acknowledge how much courage it takes to voice these struggles. Often, we treat mental health as a matter of 'willpower,' but as a psychiatrist, I can tell you that what you are experiencing has a real biological and neurological basis. Your brain, like any other organ, can sometimes struggle to maintain balance under stress. Seeking treatment isn't a sign of failure; it’s a proactive medical decision to regain your quality of life. We can work together to understand the 'why' behind these feelings and find a structured path back to your baseline. You don't have to navigate this alone.

Consult a psychiatrist, get a clinical assessment and psychological testing done and then based on the results further treatment. ADHD can be very well treated in the majority. Good luck

It’s completely understandable that you’re feeling scattered, but what you’re describing sounds more like 'monkey mind'—a common experience for students where the brain becomes restless and jumpy due to academic pressure and constant digital stimulation. Unlike ADHD, which is a lifelong neurodevelopmental pattern present since childhood across all areas of life, monkey mind is often a situational response to stress that makes your thoughts feel like they’re swinging from branch to branch. In a high-pressure environment, your mind is simply trying to process too many 'what-ifs' and tasks at once, creating a sense of mental noise that can be settled through mindfulness and structured routines rather than clinical intervention. We can work on 'taming' this restlessness by breaking your work into smaller, finite goals and using grounding techniques to help your focus return to the present moment. If you want to learn some simple behavioural techniques to learn to better focus on studies you can consult me directly for an online consultation on nine eight two six five four five six six zero. You can try mindfulness, meditation, pomodoro techniques, chunking of tasks and many other techniques.
