IBS is a somatic disorder, I.e. manifestation of mental tension as physical symptoms. Standard treatment is antidepressants and they work wonderfully in ibs.

Mental stress increases your bowel movements. It also disturbs digestion. It may cause increased acidity too.
First thing you need to understand is that your problem is your mental stress, not your abdomen. Do not focus on treating your abdominal complaints. They are going to be there for a while. Accept it.
Next, deal with your mental stress. Your anxiety is probably coming from focusing on your abdominal symptoms. I suggest that you try to divert your mind for as long as possible with another chain of thought or activity. Try this for at least 2 weeks. Remember, during this time your abdominal symptoms are going to be there. First the anxiety will go down, then your abdomen will start getting better.
A lot of times, the anxiety is about something relatively normal. Like, it is normal to have some fullness and bloating after a meal. Abdominal gas and sounds are also normal. Sometimes this 'normal' becomes exaggerated due to stress, but it is still normal. Try to change your perspective, it will help too.
