Periods can be irregular during initial years after menarche i.e after first period.If it is more than 1 year since menarche, get Thyroid funçtion tests and ultrasound abdomen and pelvis, to find out the cause for delayed period.The right age even to think about pregnancy is after 18 years.Unprotected sex can of course lead to pregnancy. But pregnancy can also occur with out actual sex / intercourse by different methods like Artificial insemination and various Artificial Reproductive techniques.
