I have a 8mm stone in my Ureter. It's painful and Dr. suggested for surgery. Surgery will be RIRS and also Dr said that he will put the stent in Ureter for 2 weeks. I need 2nd opinion on this.
Is there any other option rather than surgery?
If it's necessary to go for surgery, do I have any other option apart from RIRS?
Is it necessary to leave inside Ureter?
I have attached my ultrasound report for the reference.
Kindly reply asap.
Thanks

Yes surgery is needed as the stone is larger for it to spontaneously pass out. It is the usual practice to place a stent after ureteroscopy to avoid oedema and pain while smaller fragments to pass out.
