Your symptoms do point towards depression but there are more questions that need to be asked and since you have allergies, a detailed history for that needs to be taken before starting any medicines. But, medicines will certainly help you, not to worry about that. Please go ahead and see a psychiatrist. You'll feel better soon once medicines are started.
Next Steps
please talk to your close friends and relatives about the issue. keep them in the loop.

Hello practo user I can understand the difficult situation that you are currently facing. It seems that you are a sensitive person and some past negative event has been aggravating these symptoms of irritability , mood swings and negative thoughts. You can try and practice deep breathing and meditation on a regular basis to help with the thoughts , try and talk to close family members and friends. Spend quality time engaged in various activities which you enjoy to help you keep distracted. Try and maintain a healthy lifestyle and sleeping patterns. Try and maintain a thought journal in which you can mention three positive events of the day. It is advisable that you seek help from a clinical psychologist for a further evaluation and formulation of a management program through regular psychotherapy sessions. You can also reach out to me through the practo app for any further help or guidance.
