I had detected Hypothyroid in 2014 wheb i was pregnant. Tsh was 9 at that time...i was on 50 mcg pills...but later i stopped those pills....now my tas is 77. Gained weight 4-5 kg ...pleae help

One more thing to remember is that Hypothyroidism is not a life threatening disorder , if properly treated, and you can lead an absolutely normal life taking tablets as suggested. It means that you are not able to produce enough thyroxine hormone naturally, that is needed for your normal body functions. Hence what ever deficiency is there, you need to replace with external thyroxine. It is like not getting enough water through municipal water supply; you buy what ever extra that is needed from outside. Once you stop it, again you will reach the same point where you are left with not enough water. The same thing with thyroxine tablet, if you stop it, TSH starts rising again , indicating body is not getting enough thyroxine . Hence you should always be on certain amount so as to keep TSH in normal limits.
