Hello doctor actually I have had several sexual partners but now became educated about the risk of hpv so can I get the hpv vaccine at thr age of 21? I don't know if I am infected or not but I don't have warts at this time and never gotten them

Hi. Ideal age for getting  hpv vaccine is 11-12 years prior to the onset of sexual activity and it's most effective then. However you can get vaccination by the age of  26 years irrespective of sexual activity and prior exposure to hpv but it will be less effective. Before 15 yrs you need 2 doses 6 months apart and after 15 yrs of age you need 3 doses.
