Oral hpv in men can cause oropharyngeal cancer but its very uncommon only about 0.7 %. Wven if u are infected with oral hpv in most people it clears spontaneously. But some develop cancer. There is no effective test to detect oral hpv although there are some test on a oral rinse but can lead to false positive as well. The only way is to always be aware of the condition inside ia oral and oropharyngeal lining. If u notice some warty or abnormal patch/spot u can consult doctor. The good news is oropharyngeal cancer caused by hpv is more amenable to treatment than non hpv cancer
