The risk of HIV transmission from a positive woman to a man through a single vaginal act is very low — roughly 0.04 to 0.08% even without any protection. With a condom that broke mid-act, the actual exposure was partial and the risk is lower than that. However, since there was a confirmed exposure, this should not be ignored.
Next Steps
Visit a doctor or nearest government ART centre immediately — PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis) must be started within 72 hours to be effective. Also get a baseline HIV test done now, and repeat at 6 weeks and 3 months. Feel free to consult me directly on Practo for a detailed evaluation.
