Hello Doctor,
Please read my query carefully.
I am very much stressed now. I took rabies intradermal vaccine 3days before from a government medical. After took little vaccine and blood came out. The health worker touched and rub my puncture suddenly. He had no gloves. Now i am worried for HIV infection. As they giving many vaccines and RIG to many patients and their hands definitely contaminated with blood.
Now i am very much anxious, worried and tensed. My anxiety level is high now. Don't know what i will do.
Can i take HIV pep now. Will it affect the rabies vaccine. Now i am worried for both rabies and HIV.
Please advise and tell is this possible to get HIV like this.

If I was in your place I would have done nothing for protection from HIV because it is too far fetched to think of acquiring HIV infection like this. The health care worker would have rubbed the area with spirit and cotton swab and not only by his bare fingers.
However you can get an HIV test done after 4 weeks. There is no point in taking PEP at this stage.
Every time I read you query carefully.

IT'S A USAL PRACTICE EITHER THEY PUT GLOVES FOR ON TIME N WITHDRAW BLOOD FOR A GROUP OF PEOPLE AVAILABLE. THAN REMOVE THAN THEY TOOK ANOTHER GROUP OF PT NO GLOVES.
LISTEN TOUCH THE BLEEDING SITE WITH BEAR HAND IS NOT AT ALL THE ROUTE OF TRANSMISSION.
SO AS YOUR ANXIETY LEVEL IS HIGH U CAN GO FOR TEST AS SUCH NOT REQUIRED.
RT PCR FOR HIV
9TO25 DAYS.
FOR RABIES NO EARLY TEST. RABIES IS NOT BY RABIS VACCINE, OR TOUCH AS RABIES VACCINE CONTAINS ATENUATED VIRUS OK.
CALM DOWN. RELAX U R TOTALLY SAFE.
Aap jo situation describe kar rahe hain usme HIV transmission ka risk practically negligible hota hai.
HIV transmission ke liye direct blood-to-blood exposure (fresh infected blood entering bloodstream) required hota hai. Sirf external touch ya rubbing se infection nahi hota.
Isliye is scenario me HIV PEP ki zarurat nahi hoti.
Rabies vaccination continue karein as advised, us par koi issue nahi hoga
Very low risk. HIV does not spread like this (casual touch, even if small blood contact). No need for HIV PEP.
Continue rabies vaccine as advised. No interaction issue.
If still anxious, do HIV test at 4–6 weeks for reassurance.

"I have read your query carefully. Please be assured that there is ZERO risk of HIV transmission in the scenario you described. HIV is not transmitted through casual touch, even if a health worker without gloves touched your injection site. The virus is very fragile and cannot survive on skin or in the open environment for more than a few seconds. For transmission to occur, a significant amount of infected fresh blood would need to enter your bloodstream directly, which is not the case here. You do NOT need PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis)."
Next Steps
Your high anxiety is likely causing you more physical distress than the actual incident. Please focus on completing your Rabies Vaccine and RIG schedule as prescribed, as that is the priority. There is no interaction between the rabies vaccine and your concern about HIV. Try to relax and trust the medical protocol of the government facility."
Health Tips
Taking HIV PEP without a real exposure is not recommended as it has strong side effects like nausea, fatigue, and liver stress. Avoid searching for 'HIV symptoms' online, as it will only fuel your anxiety. If you still feel extremely tensed after 4 weeks, a simple HIV test can be done just for your mental peace, though it is clinically not required."
Hi dear,
Kindly be re-assured and no need to be anxious. HIV virus is unable to survive outside human body in dry and air-exposed environment. Although unhygienic and unprecautious conduct of any health practioner is condemed still, if this has happened no need to worry because no actual deep sanguinous contact has occured which could spread HIV infection.
Next Steps
Be calm and relax. For better reassurance, read yourself about HIV virus survival ex-vivo and its possible methods of infection. This will help you releave your anxiety further.
Health Tips
Alway ask your health care providers regarding sanitary and sterlisation measures that they follow. Usually they sterlise after every contact. Hence it can reassure you. Take care and relax!
Not at all .no worry.you are safe.h8v doesn't spread like this ,its required direct entry in bloodstream and unprotected intercourse. Also outside virus is inactive so no worry .
