Hiv risk after fnac test
"I have a small cyst in my testis, doctor did FNAC. Before my test, the doctor had done FNAC on another woman patient, and the doctor didn't change gloves before testing me. There was some blood-like substance on the gloves, and I am not sure whether the needle was changed or not. I'm worried about HIV. I live in a mess with friends and I want to leave the mess and go home to my village to stay with my family. But after yesterday's FNAC test, I'm scared of HIV. I don't want to go home because I'm afraid I might infect my family. Do I have any risk of HIV in this situation? If there is any risk, what should I do?

Two points needed to be noted 1.The other patient should have the infection to get transfered to you 2.After the glove stains, if it touch ur intact skin nothing happens, it transfers when ur blood comes in contact with that stain..that too in span of less than 30sec..because viral bodies don't stay alive for hours How ever taking antiglobulins within 72hrs if doubted blood is positive
Next Steps
Test for HIV and clear doubt if u have same
Health Tips
Hiv spread by blood to blood contact, sexually transmitted.

There can be a possibility if the used needle or used gloves not changed. If possible try to get serology reports of that woman from your consultant doctor. If the woman is positive only then take HAART regimen or you can start post exposure prophylaxis within 72hours.
Next Steps
Get tested immediately and if doubtful start post exposure HAART regimen within 72 hours for 28 days  and get tested later once again
