High urea level
Hi doctors, I want to consult about my mother as she is diabeitic and it affect her kidney too. According to KFT report her blood urea is 183mg/dl but there are no symptoms like vomiting loss of appetite etc... Kindly suggest some measures to reduce urea level from blood so she can saved from dialysis

We decide more on creatinine rather than urea level. And need to stabilise other parameters like calcium phosphorus, Uric acid and Hemoglobin. Get these investigations done. And if the kidney injury is recent onset I.e. Acute then some recovery is possible. If it’s long term or chronic then difficult to withhold dialysis. Can only try to postpone for days depending on current patient scenario.
Next Steps
Do these tests: Creatinine, Uric acid, Calcium, Phosphorus, Albumin, Hemoglobin
Health Tips
Strict low salt CKD diet. Consider adding renal probiotic tablets on consultation with nephrologist
