High triglycerides
I've been carrying excess belly fat for years, and it's been creeping up steadily. I'm about 80 pounds overweight. I've just been diagnosed with high triglycerides, elevated LPL levels, a cist on my kidney and pre-hypertension. My doctor suggested a low-fat diet, eating small meals often, drinking lots of water, moderate exercise one hour per day, and measuring everything to the size of my palm, with the exception of leafy green and cruciferous vegetables, which she said were unlimited. My pharmacist, on the other hand, urged a low-carb, high-fat diet, eating twice a day, stopping three hours before bed, drinking lots of water, high-impact cardio. The only thing that they agreed upon was that I should take fish oil. No one mentioned salt at all, but my doc said to avoid cheese and my pharma said to eat it. I'm so confused. An online search rendered similar conflicting advice. Please help, I don't want to get sick!
