Your report shows high triglycerides at 341 mg/dL and slightly low HDL, which means your body is making or retaining extra fat in the blood. The LDL and total cholesterol are in a good range, but the raised triglycerides, along with an HbA1c of 6.1, suggest early insulin resistance or prediabetes. This usually happens due to a mix of excess carbohydrate intake, irregular meals, high stress, or limited physical activity. Your weight of around 87 kg for your height increases this risk further. You should reduce refined carbs, sweets, fried food, and alcohol if used. Include more vegetables, dal, and high-fiber foods. Walking briskly for 40 minutes daily and cutting down on late dinners can help. If triglycerides remain above 250 after 6 weeks of lifestyle change, a mild lipid-lowering medicine like fenofibrate may be needed under supervision. You can correct this with timely steps. For a detailed review and safe plan, I can assess your case here on Practo.

Hi — thanks for sharing your detailed lipid profile and HbA1c results. I’ve reviewed them carefully, and I’ll explain exactly what they mean and how you can fix this naturally (and if needed, with medicines). Interpretation of your report Total Cholesterol: 185 mg/dL → Normal LDL (“bad cholesterol”): 72.8 mg/dL → Excellent HDL (“good cholesterol”): 43 mg/dL → Slightly low (ideal >50 in women) Triglycerides: 341.8 mg/dL → High (ideal <150) VLDL: 68.3 mg/dL → Elevated (reflects high triglycerides) HbA1c: 6.1 → Borderline prediabetes So, your main issue is high triglycerides and early insulin resistance (borderline sugar). This combination is often due to metabolic imbalance from stress, diet, or sedentary habits rather than severe disease. Likely causes in your case 1. High carbohydrate intake (white rice, sweets, bakery, sugary drinks). 2. Low physical activity. 3. Skipped meals or late-night eating. 4. Possible mild fatty liver. 5. Hormonal or thyroid changes (can check TSH if not done). Treatment & Lifestyle Plan If you don’t have major heart disease, we can first fix this without strong medication — only with a structured diet and mild supplements for 3 months: Diet Plan: Stop refined carbs and sweets completely. Avoid alcohol, fruit juices, and fried foods. Add 2 tsp flaxseed powder or chia seeds daily. Use olive oil / mustard oil instead of butter or ghee. Eat small, frequent meals — avoid long gaps. 1 cup of green tea twice daily after meals. Exercise: 30–40 min brisk walk or yoga daily. If overweight, aim for 5–6 kg weight loss in 3 months. Medications (if lifestyle alone fails): If triglycerides stay >300 after 6–8 weeks of lifestyle change, a mild lipid-lowering drug like Fenofibrate 145 mg daily after dinner may be advised temporarily. Your HbA1c (6.1) also suggests starting Metformin SR 500 mg once daily after dinner to improve insulin sensitivity — especially if you’re overweight or have a family history of diabetes. Reassurance This is not a dangerous level, but it’s a warning stage — if corrected now, you can completely reverse it. With proper guidance, your triglycerides can drop below 150 and HbA1c below 5.6 within 3–4 months. I can review your diet pattern, weight, and daily routine and create a personalized step-by-step lipid and sugar correction plan that fits your lifestyle perfectly. You can message me directly on WhatsApp at nine three two six zero two zero five three six — send your report photo and brief diet summary, and I’ll give you a structured 3-month plan (including foods to avoid, supplement chart, and medicine guidance if needed) to normalize your lipids and sugar safely.

Firstly we should check if you have any other medical conditions - that will tell how aggressive we have to be with the treatment. You are in a pre diabetic range as per your HbA1C values. For the Triglycerides, medical treatment needs to be initiated. Lifestyle modification along with treatment should be done. Daily exercise for 20 mins, atleast 5 days a week. Start slow but be consistent. Avoid fried foods altogether.
