High sugar levels
Hii doctor.. i was detected with gestational diabetes from 6th month of my pregnancy & delivered a baby girl vaginally without any complications. But when i did my sugar test post meal after 2 & half months one day it showed 130 again today its showing 190. Iam bit worried abt it & i had a lot of sweet ladoos after my delivery..so plz suggest what can be done now.. should i start medications..?? Will it be for life long.?? Plz reply

Any woman, who had developed gestational diabetes, has a risk of developing Type 2DM in future. It can develop anytime after delivery. So it is advisable to all women who had a history of gestational diabetes, follow lifestyle modification. As of now, you should follow diabetic diet and do atleast 30 min of exercise. Remember maintain your weight in ideal range. If you gain wait, you may develop overt diabetes.
