High sugar during gestational period
I am mother of 1, now married for five years. My LMP was 12.7.2017. I am 7-8 weeks pregnant. My gynecologist and physician after consulting each other have suggested me 30 units of insulin every day(16-14). After 4 days of course I see my levels coming down gradually, but not as medical standards. So my physician cum endocrenologist increased the dose by two units (18-16). I have been taking insulin since 27.8.2017. I m currently taking 20-18. My sugar tests results date wise are given below. On 23.8.17- fasting-294, PP-461,On 01.9.17- fasting-201, PP-318, On 07.9.17- fasting-165, PP-266.I also have Total TSH, SERUM level- 6.120 I eat three tabs a days after 3 meals F029 after b/fast Zincovit  after lunch Folvite 10 after dinner. what are the consequences of keeping this high level of sugar and thyroid at my stage of   pregnancy? tell me if i need to correct my course of action ? Doctor I am really worried. please suggest me what i must do in this scenario. Regards:Renu

Hi Renu ji, 1. Tsh of 6.12 in early pregnancy has an ability to worsen and increase chances of hypothyroidism. These levels need to be checked regularly and correction is needed. 2. Your sugar levels are high and you need a stricter control please stay in touch with your endocrinologist, for regular revision on insulin dosages.
Next Steps
I would also like you to meet a good clinical nutritionist for a diet chart that gives you good nutrition but less sugar level splurges Lastly you need to exercise everyday, under supervision and guidance of a trained professional.
Health Tips
Follow these and all will be fine. All the best. God bless.
