  4. High SGPT and SGOT. Underlying disease?

High SGPT and SGOT
Hi, My brother recently had dengue and is still recovering. We did a routine blood test and found that his Liver and Lipid profile were deranged. SGOT 127 SGPT 205 Even his T3 (2.05) T4 (14.3) are deranged. Is this because of dengue or is there some other underlying disease?

Hi, Don't worry. As these all could be manifestation of dengue fever. Liver function gets deranged in dengue. Lipid profile derangement is not very significant. Once fever subside you may repeat it after 2 weeks. Hope he gets well soon. Best wishes.
