High Eosinophils
My son is 5 years. He seems to be doing ok. We were isolated in one part of the house since ,3 others were covid positive. It's about 25 days now.and quarantine is over and everyone is negative. My son had a mouth ulcer last week which went away in two days and a slight rash on his cheeks which is now gone. We are in kerala and there is severe rain and cyclonic storms. He's always had allergies when exposed to rain or cold winter weather when we stayed in Delhi. I noticed his gums are a bit yellowish and he mentioned his tooth hurts a few times. So a relatively ve suggested to do cbc and liver test. Liver function seems normal. But here are the elevated readings of blood test. He seemed a bit tired yesterday and irritable for a few days. But today he seems perfectly fine and active. Eosinophils - 8.6 ESR - 5 LYM-TC - 5590 EOS - TC - 870 Albumin - 4.4 Globulin - 2.9 Bilrubin total - 0.5 Please advise ..

Hello, Good evening. As the covid situation is critical in the country, I understand your concern regarding your child's health. Seeing his cell counts, and the detailed history given by you, it looks like eosinophilia.
Next Steps
Watch for any temperature spikes in the next few days, as well as any other symptoms. If he starts having any other symptoms, do contact a paediatrician for further assessment and treatment.
