My 65-year-old father underwent a comprehensive whole-body checkup about a year ago, which revealed normal results across all parameters, including
liver and
kidney function tests, as well as an abdominal ultrasound. The only exception was his blood
sugar levels, which led to him starting
diabetes medication. Fortunately, his sugar levels have been well-controlled since then. However, a recent serum
creatinine test showed elevated levels at 1.9, which is puzzling given his normal test results just a year ago and his controlled diabetes. I'm seeking insight into whether this elevation could be temporary or caused by factors unrelated to kidney disease, and if it can be treated without resorting to dialysis or other intensive measures.
