I am currently being investigated for Polycythemia Vera. I had Hgb of 17.2 and HCT fof 51 back in January. My EPO was at 6.6 and MPN reflex panel was negative for all the known mutations. I stopped
smoking and was on proper hydration for 5 months and re-tested my CBC from two labs Lab1- Hgb of 15.4 and HCT of 46.2 RBC 5.17 Lab2- Hgb of 16.7 HCT of 49.5 and RBC 5.59 These Lab results are 48 hours apart from each other. Now, I am confused about which one is true? I do not have any other symptoms, Spleen and Liver normal, no elevation in WBC and PLT. My haematologist thinks this is normal for age (29 Male). Kindly help me understand, can this be polycythemia vera?
