Hello Doctors,
My daughter is 11 months and 04 days old. Sometime she is having hiccups specially in strong emotions, such as excessive laughing, crying, excitement and hiccups are gone within 15 to 20 minutes. What can be reason for this? Is it to worry or it is normal? and what are the remedy to stop hiccups?

hiccups in big children usually occur due to excessive laughing, belching, acidity as well as gas in the stomach and intestine of the child.
it is important to give plenty of water to drink as well as easily digestible food made at home.
diversion of the child also helps.
it is self limiting problem and will decrease but if it is occurring again and again then it is advisable to complete a course of antacid.
