Herpes zooster tranission enquiry
I am 32 years old . I got herpes zooster 10 days before. I took antiviral medicine for 7 days complete course. My rashes have become e black now. Can I play with my kids now . Is there any chance of transmission now also. Please suggest.

Hi The rash usually stays for a week but but the rate of transmission is for 2-4weeks as it resides in dormant ganglia for this duration It’s better u avoid playing with the kids for 2-4weeks

It appears crusts have formed. You should wait till crusts fall off as it takes that long for you to be sure that you won't be transmitting varicella to kids. Although if your kids are vaccinated for varicella, then it should not be a problem.
