Hello doctor I'm suffering from anxiety from 7 to 8 years and I consult a psychiatrist named Shashank mathur in kanpur and I'm having medicines from 7 to 8 years but when I stop taking those medicines my condition start getting worsen and I start having anxiety heavy head I just wanna know is there any cure of this disease in which even if don't take medicine I would be fine l feel very bad for being depend on medicine

I can understand your distress but when our main aim is getting affected due to our symptoms, it indicates that Medications must be taken in other physical conditions such as thyroid,BP, DM etc When an individual continues medications for a long time under the supervision of a doctor, in most of the cases only single medication is needed * So don't get stressed out , trust a doctor, maintain follow up with doctor and continue medications along with relaxation exercises

What are the medicines. Anxiety happens due to reduced serotonin produced in your mindpathways for lay person to understand. Medicines mostly SSRIs normalise them. On stopping if your body again has less production it recurs again. So consult and take regularly. It is like diabetes or hypertension. Basic education about the illness prevents one from having an expectation of cure rather than control. Good day
