The persistent epigastric (upper abdominal) pain that hasn't improved after 5 days of medication warrants further evaluation.
The doctor has appropriately recommended stool examination and other tests to determine the underlying cause.
Stool tests help detect various conditions that can cause epigastric pain, including:
Infections from bacteria or parasites
Hidden blood that may indicate inflammation
Problems with pancreatic function
Your doctor may recommend additional tests based on your symptoms:
Blood tests to check for inflammation
Ultrasound to examine gallbladder and other organs
Endoscopy if needed
Continue the prescribed medications and maintain a food diary to identify trigger foods. If symptoms worsen or new symptoms develop, contact your doctor immediately.
