It sounds like you are already under treatment and recovering well with your fever now controlled. The dry mouth and reduced daytime urination are likely due to mild dehydration, which is very common during a fever illness â increasing your fluid intake with plain water in addition to fruits and coconut water will help. Since your doctor has already prescribed antibiotics and mentioned the possibility of infection, it would be best to follow up with the same doctor rather than self-testing or self-medicating â they can decide whether a urine test is needed based on how you are progressing.

Hi, after recent fever and medicines, dry mouth, reduced daytime urine, and poor appetite are common during recovery..
If urine output remains low or symptoms worsen, a quick review with urine test would be worthwhile. Feel free to consult for further guidance.
Yes, do urine routine/microscopy if urine is less, dark, burning, lower abdominal pain, or fever comes again.
Dry mouth and less daytime urine may be due to dehydration after fever. Take more water/ORS, light food, and continue medicines as prescribed.
Do not start/change antibiotics yourself. If fever returns, weakness increases, vomiting, burning urine, or very low urine occurs, revisit doctor and consider CBC, CRP, urine test.
It is reassuring that your fever has subsided after treatment. The symptoms you are currently experiencing can occur during the recovery phase of an infection and may also be related to inadequate fluid intake, fever-related dehydration, or medication effects.
A few questions:
Are you having any burning sensation while passing urine?
Increased frequency, urgency, lower abdominal pain, or foul-smelling urine?
Any nausea, vomiting, loose stools, or significant weakness?
A UTI is less likely if you do not have urinary symptoms such as burning, urgency, or pain while urinating. However, if the decreased urine output persists despite good fluid intake, a Urine Routine Examination and basic blood tests (CBC, RFT) may be helpful.
Next Steps
✔ Continue adequate hydration (water, ORS, coconut water, soups)
✔ Eat small, frequent, easily digestible meals
✔ Complete the prescribed antibiotic course as advised by your treating doctor
✔ Monitor urine output and body temperature
