Hi, before prescribing you any supplement or health drinks I would like to check your blood reports amd medical prescription. But still as a Dietitian I will advice you to have a proper meal all the food groups .
Your meals should have. Carb source , protien, dairy , seeds and oils . Minerals and vitamins.
Also To ensure a healthy pregnancy, several key nutrients are essential for both the mother’s well-being and the baby’s development. Folic acid is a top priority for preventing neural tube defects and can be found in abundance in spinach, lentils, and fortified cereals. To support a massive increase in blood volume, iron is necessary to prevent anemia; good sources include lean red meat, beans, and tofu. For bone health, the body requires a combination of calcium from dairy products or kale, and Vitamin D, which is found in fatty fish, egg yolks, and through safe sunlight exposure.
In addition to these, choline and DHA (an omega-3 fatty acid) are critical for the baby’s brain and eye development; these are best sourced from eggs, salmon, and walnuts. Protein acts as the primary building block for new tissue and is easily obtained through poultry, legumes, and Greek yogurt. Finally, iodine is necessary for thyroid function and can be maintained through the use of iodized salt and dairy. Combining these nutrient-dense foods with a prenatal supplement is often the most effective way to meet these heightened nutritional demands.
You’re absolutely right they do contain added sugars and processed carbohydrates, which may not be ideal for daily use during pregnancy.
Clarification on Sugar Content:
- These powders may not contain “added sucrose,” but they still include other forms of sugars and carbohydrates that can impact blood sugar levels.
- Regular intake, especially during pregnancy, can contribute to unnecessary sugar load.
What this means for you:
- It’s better to avoid depending on such powders daily, particularly when trying to prevent gestational diabetes.
- Occasional use may be acceptable, but it should not replace real meals.
Better Approach:
- Instead of relying on a powder, focus on a balanced diet rich in fiber, whole grains, protein, and healthy fats, which helps maintain stable blood sugar levels.
- Choose natural options like milk, curd, nuts, and seeds for better nourishment.
While these products may seem convenient, they are not the best daily choice. A balanced, whole-food-based diet is more effective and safer for both you and your baby.

Hi,
The best thing would be avoid these health drinks with sugar. May be try Satthu maavu and adjust the quantity of sugar you add.
You would have to focus on increasing the overall quantity and quality of protein in your diet. Look for calcium and iron rich foods too.
