Common contributing factors include: • Recurrent throat infections • Post-nasal drip due to allergy or sinus issues • Acid reflux (LPR/GERD) • Dust exposure or pollution • Habitual throat clearing These granules represent a reactive change in the throat mucosa and are often associated with irritation rather than infection. Treatment depends on the underlying cause. In many cases: • Steam inhalation • Adequate hydration • Avoidance of irritants (smoking, excessive spicy food, cold beverages) • Management of allergy or reflux are sufficient. Antibiotics are not routinely required unless there are signs of acute infection.
