Head injury due to an accident
It's been 10 days. My husband met with an accident & hospitalised since than, he has got injury on his right side of head just above the ear & got 22 stitches. He is not able to recognise his family not even his mother & father, it is like he started doing daily routine activities on his own with some help, eating on his own, recognising people's face but not exact name, words are fumbling not clear, saying which has no meaning.. expressions are like he is normal sometimes but not always. Doctors are saying he will b fine with the time as swelling is there. I am worried please tell what should we do as his family & friends.

Following head injury and brain damage it is difficult to predict about the extent of memory loss. As the swelling comes down the brain will regain back it's functioning. Till then as a family please don't try to test his memory often by asking him "tell who?Where? When?" This would either irritate him or will push him to depression.
Next Steps
give him news papers, keep wall clock and calender on his room. update him with latest news, introduce ppl by their name and other personal information.
Health Tips
Keep a look on his mood, temper and keep the consulting doctor informed.
