Hi Doctor, my baby’s HC has been lagging for the past few scans though Doppler is normal. Since this was a growth scan and not a detailed anomaly scan, should I be worried about possible brain growth or chromosomal issues, or can this still be due to IUGR/constitutional small growth?
Doc said AC can be lagging as iugr, but HC is worrisome

We need to go back in previous scans and confirm if your dating was correct. The assessment for chromosomes is usually done in early part of pregnancy by first trimester screening, dual test, quadruple test. And level 2 scan in 5th month. Other cause for small baby can be due to intrauterine infections, so screening to be done for that. Your Doctor should be able to assess for all these factors and indicate if it’s a normal small baby or abnormal small baby..
