HC is lagging, along with AC. IUGR baby
Hi Doctor, my baby’s HC has been lagging for the past few scans though Doppler is normal. Since this was a growth scan and not a detailed anomaly scan, should I be worried about possible brain growth or chromosomal issues, or can this still be due to IUGR/constitutional small growth? Doc said AC can be lagging as iugr, but HC is worrisome Attached report

We need to go back in previous scans and confirm if your dating was correct. The assessment for chromosomes is usually done in early part of pregnancy by first trimester screening, dual test, quadruple test. And level 2 scan in 5th month. Other cause for small baby can be due to intrauterine infections, so screening to be done for that. Your Doctor should be able to assess for all these factors and indicate if it’s a normal small baby or abnormal small baby..
Next Steps
You will need more frequent monitoring of this baby with weekly Doppler scans to advise on best time to deliver

This is FGR, but such scans should ideally be done by Fetal medicine experts. Reconfirmation of Dating by first trimester scan to be done Color Doppler is not in the scan, assuming it is normal, weekly color doppler needs to be done Need your history and previous all scans to evaluate other high risk factors and causes Discussion about Steroids, delivery should be done by your Obgyn according to Dopplers
Health Tips
Daily Fetal Movement Count NST at clinic Rest in Left Lateral position Plenty of oral fluids Connect for further discussion
