Hb1ac 5.7% and FBS 125

My mother is diabetic since 2 years and on Metformin twice a day. Her latest lab reports says FBS 125 and HB1AC 5.7%. Does she need to reduce medicine or continue the same treatment?

In mono therapy metformin generally do not cause hypoglycemia and its safe to continue. I can see fasting is on higher side even after medication. HbA1c is an average and can be affected by several things. Please check Post meal as well. Glycemic variation is more harmful.
