Your weight and posture are two important things to be looked into
So if you are over weight and do work by bending or in wrong posture then weight is to be reduced and posture should be corrected
Next Steps
If the pain dosnt subside with medication and above preventive measures then surgery will be the last resort
Don't worry. Some changes come with age. Some are due to bad postures or improper reading posture whether book or laptop.take calcium supplements. Go for physio. Take proper water. Rest will be fine. No need for surgery.
It could be because of bad posture, trauma or because of diabetes.. for disc bulge consult an orthopedician he/she will advice you based on degree of bulge whether physiotherapy or surgery is required. Look for radiation of pain if nerve root is involved.
Hello mam,
As per your query you are having shoulder along with neck pain since feb and you have also undergone mri.
Now mri reveals:-
1. There is restricted movement of your cervical spine causing pain while lowering your neck to read or relax.
2. Osteophytes are small bony fragments which may overgrow from their usual site causing again compression at cervical region.
3. There is mild disk compression from c2 to c6 now this is where your queries lies.. some nerve roots which supply to shoulder and neck arise from that region which is compressed leading to your pain.
Next Steps
kindly consult orthopaedic(spine) consultant for better management

1. Heat or Cold Therapy: Apply heat or cold packs to relax muscles and reduce pain.

3. Rest: Avoid activities that aggravate the pain.
4. Good Posture: Maintain proper posture to reduce strain.

After reviewing your MRI report, I want to assure you that your condition, while involving some age-related changes and mild disc issues, does not indicate any severe nerve damage or critical problems. This is encouraging as it means your situation can be effectively managed with a comprehensive approach. To address your symptoms and improve your quality of life, I recommend the following steps:Physiotherapy: Engaging in targeted physiotherapy will be essential. It will help strengthen the muscles supporting your neck, improve your posture, and alleviate discomfort. Consistent exercises and stretches will make a noticeable difference.Lifestyle Adjustments: Modifying your work environment and habits is crucial. Ensure your workstation is ergonomically designed, and take regular breaks to reduce strain. Incorporating more physical activity into your daily routine, such as walking or gentle stretching, will also be beneficial.Medication: For managing pain and inflammation, over-the-counter pain relievers and anti-inflammatory medications can be helpful. These should be used as directed to manage any discomfort you may experience. While these measures should provide significant relief, I strongly recommend consulting with a specialist in orthopedics for a thorough evaluation and to ensure the most effective treatment plan. An orthopedic consultant will provide a detailed assessment and adjust your treatment plan as needed. If you experience any severe symptoms or if your condition changes, please seek immediate medical attention or a referral to a specialized orthopedic center.Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need further assistance. I am here to support you on your path to recovery.
