Hello! Hand foot and mouth disease like any other viral infection may persist for 7 to 10 days before it subsides. Treatment is symptomatic to relieve pain in the blisters and to give soothing agents. Body's immune system is capable of controlling the infection hence maintaining a good immunity can help in recovery through this infection. Body develops immunity to the virus with which you have been infected. However As HFMD is caused by different viruses , you may get infected again but by a different virus.
